After being on a blog break for far too long we are back and are here to stay. This past year has been extremely hectic between completing two home renovations, selling a house and having a second baby all while working a day job. Now that the renovations are complete (let’s be honest are they ever really done?) and the baby is here I am so excited to finally be able to work on the blog again.
The original Free Baby (Warner) just turned 3 and my second son, Sullivan, was born at home early Good Friday morning. With his birth has come a whole bunch of brand new inspiration. I am not sure if it is a hormonal thing or if it is just something that comes with age but I have developed a lot more anxieties around keeping my home free of chemicals like VOCs, fire retardants etc. We added a second storey to a 100 year bungalow so now I have a half new half very old house. Makes for an exciting study in home renovation material chemical avoidance! Not only do I have to worry about the old banned stuff like asbestos and lead but I need to worry about the new stuff like MDF with formaldehyde, chlorine in the water etc.
Incase just worrying about what we might be breathing in wasn’t enough, the boys and I also seem very sensitive to dairy so I have been completely off cow dairy for 5 months now. This is something I have been struggling with my whole life and just now as I enter my 30s do I think I might be onto something. I always assumed it was lactose intolerance but after having no issue with goat’s milk I realized it must be the protein in cows milk. Looking forward to writing about that soon.
With a second baby also comes more costs so I am really excited to share all my latest and greatest deals with you! Can’t wait to get started!
